FUSE -Demo
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
FUSE is a tabletop horror game roguelike where you pass an IED explosive back and forth with the Handler, a serial killer wearing a hulking bomb disposal suit. With every pass the fuse shortens, until it eventually explodes on whoever holds it last. Use items to strategically rig the bomb, play against a smart, ever adapting AI, and hope you can survive long enough to find a way to escape. After every three rounds the Handler goes to rest, giving you the option to investigate the small room around you, maybe you will find something of use around here...
FUSE contains a rich, emotional story, uncovered through newspaper articles, dialogue, and exploration. In the beginning, you know that you have been sedated and kidnapped by a deranged serial killer who refers to themselves as the Handler, and forces you to play this deadly game with them. Will you play fair and to the end, or will you try to find another way out of this place? Replay FUSE multiple times to get alternate endings; each of them is unique and impactful.

- FUSE contains heavy themes such as suicide, substance abuse, and graphic descriptions/images of violence. Play at your own risk.
- Photosensitivity warning: FUSE contains very few, but some, flashing lights that could trigger seizures.
FUSE takes inspiration from the following Games:
Resident Evil Biohazard: 21, Card game DLC
Buckshot Roulette
Inscryption

A pretty enjoyable game which offers a similar energy to it's inspirations such as Buckshot Roulette. I do wish we were able to see an example of the "investigate the small room around you" mentioned in the description as that'll allow for even more feedback, but it's early days so that may come in an update. As I mention in my video I think some form of difficulty settings could help with replay ability; some checkpoints on easy and none on hard, the Handler using some dirty tactics in the later round on hard, things like that.
I'm curious to see what happens narratively, why my character was chosen by the Handler, why they offer a 'fair game' and what other stories they'll come out with as each round passes. I also think if more items are added, a small guide in the main menu can be helpful for newer players, maybe even stylise it so it looks like something crudely drawn up by the Handler for their victims. Overall I'm curious to see how this game is built on and hope my feedback has been useful!
Thanks for the feedback, and for making a video!! There are currently 4 other items in the game that are not available in the demo, along side a new gameplay mechanic! I think the knife minigame could be really cool, and I will attempt to implement that in!
I struggled trying to figure out how much of the game I should reveal in the demo, (such as the exploration aspect) as I do want to keep some of it a secret, but I see what your are saying about wanting to get a chance to test that for feedback, and I will see what I can do.
As for your questions about the story, there is one special story item (a news paper) that you can get from the item box on either rounds two or three, if you are interested in learning a little more. But for the rest of the narrative you will have to wait for the full game, it will all be explained eventually!
The item manual would be a great addition, and I am currently working on putting it into the demo, along side difficulty settings. Your feedback has been really valuable, thanks for taking the time to play FUSE!
Great video!!
Really great game! The explosions were so funny😭
Thanks for Playing and making a video!
loved the game
can't wait to play the full version
Thank you so much for playing, great video, and thanks for the shout out!! I'm currently working on fixing the bug that you found in your video, where an extra cigarette spawns inside a lock, and I'm making the tutorial less confusing 😅
